HELLO, MY NAME IS DAVID,
I am going to be attending Owens Community College, at the Toledo area campus, full time, in the spring of 2010. I will be pursuing a Major in Welding Technologies. Welding Major
( https://www.owens.edu/academic_dept/iet/welding_major.pdf ) This is a two year course, that will require my full attention and concentration.
I have applied for Federal Assistance, and have been granted two low interest loans. After I graduate, I will be able to acquire full time employment, at a high paying job, with a high quality employer, with pride and stability.
Why am I telling you this ?... Because, I am looking for help. In the form of donations. I need to purchase new clothing, shoes, winter boots, personal hygene items, and a bicycle. This will also help to cover the cost of forsaid loans.
Why am I asking for this help ?... To be honest, I have nothing, but the clothes on my back. Why?...I was living in Findlay, Ohio, in August of 2007 when the hole city was flooded, by the Blanchard River. I lost everything, my apartment was ruined, the furniture destroyed, every thing was gone, except the clothes on my back. Then in November of 2007, due to the economy, I lost my job. And as you know, jobs were very scarce at that time. I was without a place to live and without a job. I was homeless, for quite some time, and it was a struggle, I lived out doors for two winters, taking refuge in warm places, until I was told to leave. I survived on practically nothing, but, the goodness, of people like you. I lived like this until May of 2009.
Now, I am staying at a homeless shelter, in Toledo. Its not the best place to be, but its all I have, right now. I know, I need to further my education, I know that to be able to survive in this world one must have an education. I have to go to school. I have to improve myself, That's the only way I can be competitive in today's work force.
With your gracious help and support, I will be able to start and succeed at this endeavor. I understand that everybody starts at the bottom, like I am, and everybody can use some help, monetarily and spiritually. One day, I may receive a request like this, and I will look back, and remember the help you offered me, and I will, return the favor.
Thank-You, David
